A superbly built American built ship that sailed into History and she remains with us to this very day!

The author has been in the passenger shipping industry since May 1960 and is now semi-retired, but continues and I hope that the well over 675 Classic Liners and Cargo-Passengers ships I have written on will continue to provide classic ship enthusiasts and continue a great deal of information and pleasure!

SS Medina (1914-1948) was sold and renamed: SS Roma (1948-1952)

--MV Doulos--

Names Visible on her Bow!

Two of DOULOS’ original names, MEDINA and FRANCA C are still visible on her starboard bow. Her original name MEDINA is underlined. Her third name, FRANCA C, can just be made out on the left of the DOULOS’ name, whilst the rest is hidden behind DOULOS. The F is seen just in front of the D and the very last part of her name C is seen after the S.

Sadly I have not been able to locate the name ROMA (her second name), which is due to it having just been painted on her bow and stern and not welded like her other three names.
